Avant Amour ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use avantamour.in, why we collect it, how we look after it, and the choices and rights you have.
We keep this short and in plain language on purpose. If anything here is unclear, contact us using the details at the end.
Who we are
Avant Amour is a founder-led qualitative research firm based in India, led by Arrpita Ghosh Hajra. For the purposes of India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the "DPDP Act"), we are the data fiduciary responsible for the personal data described below.
Avant Amour is registered in Delhi, India.
What personal data we collect
We only collect what we need, in two situations:
When you contact us. If you submit an enquiry form on our site, we collect the details you provide: your name, email address and message, and, where the form asks for them, your phone number, company, designation and industry. If you reached us from one of our Google adverts, the form also records which advert campaign and search term brought you. Our form provider also records, for every submission, your IP address, your browser type and the address of the page you sent the form from, which it uses to filter out spam. If you message us on WhatsApp or email us instead, we receive your phone number or email address, your name if you give it, and what you write; when you use a WhatsApp button on our site, the message it starts for you names the page you came from. We collect all this so we can respond to your enquiry and know which of our adverts lead to enquiries.
When you browse the site (only if you allow it). We use Google Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how visitors use the site — for example which pages are read most — and Google Ads measurement to tell whether a visit came from one of our own adverts. Both run through Google's tag, which loads on every page, but they set no cookies and cannot identify you until you accept in the banner shown on your first visit. If you decline, Google receives only anonymous, cookieless signals (the page visited, approximate location, and your consent choice), which it uses for aggregate modelling; no cookies are set, and the only thing stored on your device is your choice, so we do not ask again. If you accept, Google sets cookies and collects standard usage data (such as pages viewed and approximate location), which helps us improve the site and our advertising. If you accept and then send us an enquiry through a form, Google's tag may also send Google Ads a scrambled (hashed) copy of the email address and phone number you entered, so Google can tell whether one of our adverts led to your enquiry; this is not sent if you decline. We do not use this data to identify you personally.
We do not show advertising on this site and we do not sell your data. If you accept cookies, Google may record that you visited us from one of our adverts, and may include you in an audience that is shown our own adverts elsewhere (remarketing). We do not build marketing profiles of you beyond this.
Why we use your data and our legal basis
- To respond to your enquiry — when you contact us, we use your details to reply and to discuss a possible research engagement, and the advert campaign and search term (if any) to see which of our adverts brought the enquiry. This is processing based on your request and consent.
- To improve the site and our advertising — analytics and advertising-measurement data is used only in aggregate, and only with your consent given through the cookie banner.
We will not use your data for any new purpose without telling you first.
Who we share it with
We do not share your personal data with anyone for their own use. We do rely on a small number of trusted service providers (data processors) who handle data on our behalf, under their own security and privacy commitments:
- Netlify — hosts our website and stores contact-form submissions. Netlify is based in the United States.
- Google — provides Google Analytics and Google Ads / Tag Manager (site usage and advertising-measurement data, including the scrambled form details described above, with your consent) and Google Workspace (the email account that receives your enquiry, connect@avantamour.in). Google operates internationally, including in the United States.
If you message us on WhatsApp, the conversation is carried by WhatsApp, a Meta service, which handles your data under its own privacy policy.
Because these providers operate outside India, your data may be processed on servers in other countries, including the United States. We choose providers that offer appropriate safeguards for the data they handle.
How long we keep it
We keep contact-form enquiry data only as long as we need it to respond to you and to manage any resulting engagement. Enquiries that do not lead to a working relationship are deleted within 12 months.
Analytics and advertising-measurement data is retained according to Google's standard retention settings for Google Analytics and Google Ads.
How we protect it
We take information security seriously. Avant Amour is certified to ISO/IEC 27001:2022 (information security management) and ISO 9001:2015 (quality management). We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse, or unauthorised access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data in line with these standards.
Your rights
Under the DPDP Act, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct or update inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Request erasure of your personal data where it is no longer needed.
- Withdraw consent at any time (for analytics and advertising cookies, you can decline or clear cookies; for an enquiry, you can ask us to delete your details).
- Raise a grievance about how we handle your data and have it addressed.

Cookies
Our site uses cookies only for analytics and advertising measurement, and only after you accept them in the consent banner. If you decline, no analytics or advertising cookies are set. You can change your choice at any time by clearing your browser's cookies and site data for this site, which will prompt the banner again.
Children
Our site and services are intended for business users and are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective date" above. Material changes will be made clear on this page.
